If you receive our quarterly newsletter, you read about a housing option that had come up for us. Since we sent that last letter, things have changed with that option, and it is no longer available. While it was hard to let go of that, God had something else in mind!
We’ve had another housing miracle take place. Two weeks ago, a couple came down to the Firehouse named Bob and Rosie Watkins. They have known Mike and Sue for a while, and are involved with the prayer movement here in Sioux Falls. Bob & Rosie explained to Mike and Sue about an emergency situation that had come up and that they were needing to move to Houston, TX to take care of Rosie’s mother and family. They felt like God said to not sell their house, and to not winterize it because there is a family here in Sioux Falls that needs it. With that, we were called over to meet them. We visited with them for a minute and prayed. With that, they looked up and said, “would you like to see your new house!” Right then and there we went and toured a beautiful, two story, 3 bedroom house in McKennan Park—the historic district of Sioux Falls. The home is fully furnished and even has a piano!! We will be living there for a year, rent free. UNBELIEVABLE!
“I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important that clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
