God loves music

November 8, 2011

This morning in our prayer meeting, I was struck with the reality that God loves music!!  Maybe this doesn’t seem like a big deal, but think about it, God created music, and let’s us enjoy it because He loves it.  This thought shattered the lie that creeps in sometimes: that God is stoic, indifferent, and just waiting to spank me when I mess up.  The truth is that God is moved, He has emotions, He dances, He laughs, He cries–everything we feel when music moves us.

“And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb.  Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.  And they sang a new song…”  Revelation 5:8

“Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.  Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  Ephesians 5:19
